Freshmen 11/20 – Final piece of project

With your project on Monday, please have a paragraph that addresses the following:

-Why you chose your topic
-Something new that you learned about your topic
-Why you chose this format for your topic
-What you hope people will see/realize/understand after they read/listen to/watch your work

This should be typed and printed out for Monday.

Freshmen 11/8 – choosing a medium for your project

Presentation links:

Presentations are informative by nature. This would be a good medium to do with a topic that requires you provide a lot of information to your audience in a visual way. Great for a project that transmits information (like research or a history of something) but not so great for a creative project.

Some topics you just need to see. Want to show us something that you can’t do in room 11? Or something that takes a long time? Want to show us a number of looks or how to’s in just a short couple of minutes? Got a creative story to tell and writing it out just wouldn’t do it justice?

Non-fiction (true story):

Working with Jigsaw (fiction)

Tailwhip (non-fiction)

Book or Portfolio

Books and portfolios have been used by art and fashion industries for hundreds of years to show off styles, looks, pictures and photographs. If you want to do a creative project with a number of images then this could be the medium for you.

Click on the “view all images” icon on the pages below to see some examples:

Book about contemporary art

Book about manga artists

Book about movies

Art Showcase

Ever been to an art gallery? The walls are white and flat so that the art on the walls are the only thing that matters. On the side of each picture/painting or sculpture is a blurb by the author that explains what the audience is looking at. If you want to do a creative project with big pictures or illustrations then we’re happy to turn room 11 into your own personal art gallery.

It would look something like this in the classroom:

Multimedia Story

In this project – whether based on a true story or completely fiction – you’ll be combining your writing with videos, pictures, social media posts, gifs, memes and anything else that will add a new dimension to your writing. This is great for historical/fact-based projects or creative works.

Non-fiction (true story)

Fiction (made up story)
